California’s watersheds and forested ecosystems face tremendous threats. What would it look like if the landscape began to heal?
CECS researchers are contributing to a documentary film exploring the possibilities for sustainable land management and restoration of Sierra Nevada forests. The film, called California’s Watershed: Healing, is produced by The Chronicles Group and serves as a sequel to California’s Watershed: Beyond the Brink, which outlines the environmental, economic, and national security threats of climate change.
In these preview clips, CECS Co-PI Steve Hart and UC Merced assistant professor Crystal Kolden discuss the factors making Sierra Nevada forests unhealthy and what it would take to heal them.
